Following on from the success of the Tunnel 500 horn flare utilised for the recent Tyne Tunnel redevelopment project, DNH is proud to announce the release of the MKII version. Taking into account comments from prospective customers and current clients, the Tunnel 500 horn flare has been re-engineered to allow for simpler manufacture, easier installation, and enhanced performance.
The Tunnel 500 horn flare was originally manufactured from rotation moulded V0 flame retardant halogen free polyethylene plastic and weighed in at a hefty 18kg.
The MK II is injection moulded black ABS plastic with the same fire retardant properties and is a whole 5kg lighter. Add to this the integral handles moulded into the unit and installation becomes much easier.
The Tunnel 500 horn flare is fixed in place by a sturdy two part 316/A4/V4A grade stainless steel bracket system that allows for installation on both flat and curved surfaces and gives plenty of angle adjustment to direct the sound to where it is needed most.
An industry standard UNEF 1 3/8” -18 thread will accept a range of compression drivers, including the DNH DUP 40(T), which provides an impressive 129dB at 40 watts/1m and affords the entire system an ingress protection level of IP 67 when used with the Tunnel 500.
