RAM 6000 Cellular RTU (Secure Remote Monitoring & Control)

Introduction

RAM6000 Secure Remote Monitoring & Control

RAM6000 Secure Remote Monitoring & Control

The RAM 6000 combines the power of an RTU with routing, security and cellular connectivity. As a cellular RTU, RAM 6000 provides a flexible, secure platform to remotely monitor and control assets across industries that include oil & gas, power & energy and water/wastewater. By using a built-in Modbus gateway to seamlessly interface with existing RTUs and PLCs, RAM 6000 provides real-time access to data from pumps, valves, reclosers, transformer capacitor banks and meters. An I/O concentrator enables users to locally collect sensor data to optimize bandwidth by reducing polling cycles.

With a single web-based user interface, RAM 6000 simplifies I/O, network and security configuration to reduce the cost and complexity of deploying, managing and configuring multiple devices at remote locations. Furthermore, an integrated security firewall provides intrusion protection and secure data access while an on-board Software Development Kit (SDK) enables users to optimize custom applications. Working in conjunction with SixView Manager™ remote monitoring and control software, RAM 6000 provides low-cost, real-time access to remote sites.

Where does RAM 6000 fit?

  • Locations with existing PLCs that use dial-up modems or have no connectivity
    • RAM 6000 offers secure cellular connectivity and redundant communication paths
  • Locations that use Ethernet or serial-based Modbus for communications with limited remote connectivity
    • RAM 6000 has a serial-to-Ethernet bridge built in
  • Customers that want a low-cost, out-of-the-box solution for monitoring and controlling remote locations
    • RAM 6000 plus EtherTRAK-2 IO modules
  • Any application that is security sensitive
    • RAM 6000 supports encryption levels up to 1024 bit, ahead of standard industrial communications devices
  • Any application that off-the-shelf controls will not work with
    • RAM 6000 has C/Perl programming available in Software Development Kit (SDK)
